Kyra le roux

Born in Pretoria, South Africa to a German-Syrian mother and a South African father, Kyra Le Roux was immersed in a melting-pot of musical traditions from an early age, developing and improving her natural gift for harmony as time went on. By the age of 15, Kyra was already composing her own music—translating abstract ideas and emotions into a variety of different genres with striking instinct. A multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, Kyra finds her greatest expression through piano and guitar, which remain her instruments of choice. Her debut project, Wenches!, showcases her distinctive style—cinematic, atmospheric, and deeply story-driven. Her music will also feature in the upcoming short film Fiancé (dir. Aaliyah Lynch, 2025).

Kyra draws inspiration from legendary composers such as Howard Shore, Gustavo Santaolalla, John Williams, and Joe Hisaishi. Like her influences, she approaches every project with a storyteller’s mindset:

"Music needs to work with the themes, context and characters of a story. These are at the forefront of what guides me and influences how I compose. I personally value the music in a piece to represent the soul of the story, and for it to neither overshadow or to hide in the background, but rather, to support it. I like working hand in hand with the director to make sure the score is what it needs to be for any project. "
